Intarsia socks on the needles, Garden gate from knitty.com, a project that bores me to death but it looks good so I’m hanging in there.

Baby cardigan out of stash yarn, the stripes sure looks good but I dread all the weaving in ends that comes with it.

Besides knitting I’m preparing for my presentation at Örebro University next Wednesday, I’ve got no inspiration what so ever, I’ve been working so much with this bloody thesis project for several months and after my examination in march I never ever wanted to see it again. One last time…ugh.

Good things ahead as well…next Saturday my darling friend Kristin is getting married. Party party.

I’m the Grinch

My green fuzzy feet are indeed very comfy but also very Grinch green. Approximately 50% of all my socks are striped ones and mostly red and white stripes. Red and white striped socks and Grinch green fuzzy feet  give a very "Grinchy" feeling!

DSCN0137

Since I’m not a fan of the ever so popular Grinch story, it really doesn’t appeal to me, I’m not very fond of my fuzzy feet. I’ve tried to overcome this very serious and huge problem by adding different ornaments to them but without result.

DSCN0139

Therefore I’ve decided that the time has come to make myself a new pair of fuzzy’s and taaa daaa here they are in progress

DSCN0142

I’ve also finished one out of two for Jenny’s dad; I’m altering between several projects to avoid the nasty second sock syndrome.

It’s huge and with the knitting needles it reminds me of a catfish

Hej hej

I might have been silent in cyber space but in IRL I’ve been knitting like the wind. The problem is that I just can’t bring myself to buy a proper camera for some reason. I hate blurry cell phone pictures but they’ll just have to do for now…it’s been three months since last post so I think it’s about time. So here it goes blurry pictures of Cherry .

DSC00020

I love this cardigan and the fit is perfect, maybe just maybe if I was to do this one again I would add some length to the part below the ribbon.  I’m also wearing my Swedish squirrelly mittens on these pictures, a beautiful pattern and I just adore them. The problem is that I knit them while sitting in the dark and therefore I managed to knit with two different colors or maybe two different shades of a color. Pat came up with a clever solution for people not to notice; keep my hands as far apart as possible

This is as far away I can manage.

DSC01627

Problematic when shopping though, how to get that leek into the basket? Also very muscle demanding when you have bought both milk and flour.

DSC01629

Another garter stitch elephant done, hopefully we can keep this one away from the liquor.

The previous one had to move to Jenny’s after repeatedly getting drunk and throwing up gooey elephant puke in my favorite shoes… and worst of all he was honking that horrible wind of change song all night long.

Find the frog!

Oh my oh my I just haven’t had any time what so ever to blog. Been busy rummaging through every little bit of forest in sight. I came across these beauties

…and a frog!

I’ve also been watching 15 tubes fill up with the amazing dripping speed of one tube/15 min.

I knit and I love Anna

I still knit like crazy, half a cherry completed…but obviously I knit so fast that I don’t take time to read the pattern instructions!!!!!

When I’m half up on the second front of cherry I notice a mistake right in the middle of the first front. After a two days long cherry break I’ve made the decision to finish the second front and the last sleeve BEFORE I redo the first part…then it won’t feel so repugnant to frog…at least that’s my theory. I hate to frog but I hate walking around with a cardigan that is semi perfect even more. I’ve got night shifts this weekend so it will keep me busy.

I’ve just started on a pair of spring forward socks and I think this pattern is just lovely, simple and yet so beautiful.

Dsc01435

The best news of all though is Anna my dear Anna. When I got home from the lab today I had a parcel with my name waiting for me. What a treat. A suède ribbon bracelet made just for me by Anna herself, I love the leaf (I löv it).

Dsc01433

A notebook, dark chocolate, candy, earrings, the cutest picture of little Saga with jam all over her face and a letter with the words I’m proud of you written in silver.

Dsc01432

I love you Anna, you’re spoiling me.

Örebro brings out the knitter in me

Look what I’ve finished, the grey-red socks I had planned to finish before the chilly  autumn winds were here…well they’re done and good is that since I have noticed that you can get cold even in summer. My new favorites.

Dsc01391

One glove and the second one not far behind. The button is just temporary until I find the perfect one…I’m thinking something glamorous.

Dsc01398

Dsc01393

Speaking of glamorous here’s a beaded bracelet that I finished last week, it looks really good with a simple black dress.

Dsc01401

Another sock done just an hour ago for a secret recipient, the first sock in the eleventh pair of monkeys.

Dsc01402

I’m planning for a black cardigan in cotton, garnstudios muskat to be precise, have to work a bit on my thesis as well so I think I’ll put that idea on hold for a while.

The time is passing here in Örebro, last week I got a ride from Stockholm with my big brother and his family who spent a night at chez Pansar playing cards and yatzy and eating pizza. This Wednesday I’m looking forward to see Madde, Anna and little Saga…and on Friday I’ll be going to Eskilstuna to spend a weekend with my darling Pat at his parents summer house. I miss him terribly. Even though I know it’s just for a short period of time I sometimes feel pathetically sorry for myself. We talk a lot using skype or sometimes we don’t talk much but I just listen to the everyday sound of his life like Pat making coffee or Pat watching TV and so on…and it gives me great comfort. I miss having that crazy fool around.

Tervetuloa!

It was laundry time at chez Pansar in Örebro and so she went to the laundry room. Dsc01382

-Tervetuloa (welcome in Finnish)! Said the laundry machine

- Kitos (thank you)! Said Pansar

-Tervetuloa! Said the laundry machine

-Kipis(cheers)! Said Pansar

-Tervetuloa! Said the laundry machine

-……Pansar in panic, searching for the finish word for whites….or any finnish word…nothing!

-Tervetuloa! Said the laundry machine

- Piss off! Said Pansar and thanked god that 40 is 40 both in Finnish and Swedish.

Örebro part II

Back in Örebro after a weekend in Sthlm. A weekend with Friday afternoon beer with some of the best gals in the world, a Saturday with little niece Ellen which included:

Dsc01368

baking cup cakes, making strawberry ice cream drinks with marshmallows and the Princess court dish (also known as spaghetti with tomato sauce).  Afterwards we went for a long walk and stopped by the lake where we pretended to be fishing…

Dsc01374

Ellen got a 1000 kg perch while my catch was so tiny that she thought it might be best to throw it back in J. We had a lovely day. The rest of the weekend I spend with my darling Pat.

On the train I managed to almost finish the grey/red sock, and I’ve started on something that is thought to be a felted slipper with a girly touch

Dsc01381

…the future will tell how that will end.

So back here in Örebro I thought it might be a good idea to exercise a bit instead of just sitting on my as in my not so cozy apartment…and look what  I ran into. Evidence that there’s some serious crocheting going on here in Örebro. Lovely.

Pansar reporting from Örebro

Two weeks ago my darling Pat dropped me off in Örebro with a table and a camping bed. So here I am now in a one room apartment with a little balcony somewhere in Örebro, don’t ask me where cause I don’t have my map with me. So far I haven’t got much to say about this place, the few times I’ve been wandering the streets I haven’t seen much since I constantly have to look at the map. I went home to Stockholm last weekend and I’m going back tomorrow again and the weekend after that it’s midsummer and then I’ll be in Stockholm again. Think I’m gonna have to stay here in Örebro after that though if I don’t want to get totally broke...at least over one weekend.

What am I doing in Öre the bro you might wonder??? Well I’m trying to finish my education and get a degree in molecular cell biology and the university here just had a perfect project for me. The project is super funny and even though I had to do the same procedure over and over again yesterday it was so worth it when I got super duper results today. Since I spend most of the time at the lab I only got lab pics for you this time, in the future though I promise (Regina) that I will post pictures of the brownish water surrounding the castle…den som väntar på något väntar aldrig för länge!

Here’s one out of many electrophoresis I did yesterday, pretty huh?

Dsc01351

And I think it’s sooooo funny that it looks like you’re nude under your lab coat when you’re wearing a skirt…it really does…but I’m not by the way…there’s a pretty little dress under that white rag.

Dsc01354

I do knit as well, a few rows on two sock projects now and then.

Dsc01358

Guess you feel all excited know, like you can’t wait until the next post with more Örebro facts.
