I bought a
lot of pinkish cotton lace weight at a thrift store in Gamleby last year, and
what a bargain it was, two giant skeins for 10 kr/1,5 USD. But what was I to do
with all this pink yarn, I don’t even like pink that much! The 13th
of February I was in desperate need for something to knit while watching the Olympics
so I decided to knit a swallowtail for my niece Ellen.
It was a quick and fun
knit and it looks great and Ellen loves pink so I think she will like
it. I still have enough yarn left to make 6 more…what am I to do with all this
pink.

Jag har funderat så det knakar. Jag har försökt att föra in lite rosa i mitt liv men det är svårt. Nä, kan inte komma med något annat förslag än att du stickar något brunt med lite rosa ränder i. Det är fint. Tycker jag. By the way, jättefin swallowtail :)

Nu kom jag på det! Virka små bakelser och rosa prinsesstårtor! Typ!

it is exquisite. i have never seen the swallowtail look so gorgeous. you could always trade the pink for something else. i have some beautiful forest green merino/camel lace and baby blue cotton/linen that i have made a few shawls with and the cones don't look any smaller.sometimes i think they even look like they have grown.(they might be breeding in my yarn closet)
so you can always turn to your fellow knitters on ravelry for help.

Thanks all!
Iris, I think you’re on to something, breeding in the yarn closet that’s it! Too bad it’s never the expensive yarn though, my kid silk haze stash just keep shrinking
Stina, you’re right brown and pink looks great together, I’ll just have to find a lot of brown then I guess.

Hi Anna-Karen, remember me? Sue Hird. You sent me a lovely parcel a few years ago, including a gorgeous red shawl, a book on Folk socks (which I'm using at the moment) and some sweets etc.
I lost your e-mail address, but would love to get in touch as I'd like the pattern for the shawl so I can knit one for a friend.
You can contact me at qwarkus@gmail.com
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sue.
