I’ve decided to have another go at this knit blog thing.
This time around I’ve had pretty good excuses for my absence.
First reason first. As I’ve told you before me and my big brother with family got an allotment garden together last spring. This turned out to be quite time consuming and also physically challenging. Dig, get some new soil and cow feces, get rid of old soil, dig, add some water, dig, have some coffee, more water and more water and so on. This thing was just grass when we got it, grass and a shabby thing with a roof. But in the beginning of the summer it turned green and things actually started to grow. This year we’ve even rented the neighboring allotment to take this even further.
Second, I had a long good discussion with my husband regarding whether or not we should get a kitten. The conclusion was no, not a good idea based on a number of different facts but first and foremost because we are both allergic. Next day I made a new decision without consulting my husband so when he gets home from work a black and white kitten with giant ears greeted him. I named him Patrik like my husband and I love them both dearly.
The third reason is a real special one, two weeks after we got the cat I peed on a stick and in a tiny display the word pregnant appeared. So from a family of two, to three to soon to bee four in two weeks time.
The pregnancy experience have been amazing. The thing is that I’ve been feeling nauseous and throwing up a lot so I’ve felt no urge to knit for the last eight months. In my head I’ve always had this picture of giant piles of knit baby garments, blankets and toys waiting for our new born, that picture has now been erased and replaced with one knitted cardi, made by the grand mother. I’m quite sure this wont have any negative effects on the baby though, rather on the contrary, less woolly itchy things to wear just cause mama made them.
So why continue a knit blog if I don’t knit, well I’m getting the urge back, lately I’ve been hanging around the Internet looking for the perfect pattern and I’ve been opening the yarn cabinet once or twice a day just to touch some yarn and needles. I’ve even made a blanket and three toys, two of them are dead though due to cat attack. Work in progress: baby rattle pattern inspired by Pippi Longstocking.
And the most important information of all: three weeks ago we got a baby girl, "Bollan".
We're in love.

She is so lovely!!!
